Andaz One: A Stylish City Escape in the Heart of Bangkok
Bangkok has a way of making you feel like you should be doing everything at once; eating, exploring, shopping, staying out way too late… and then somehow doing it all over again the next day. So, finding a hotel that feels like a little pause from all that chaos? Always a win.
Andaz One Bangkok was exactly that for us. Modern, playful and effortlessly cool, right in the heart of the city, with Lumphini Park just around the corner.
Our little corner in Bangkok
We stayed in the 1 King Bed Park Boulevard View Room, and waking up to that city-meets-greenery view was definitely one of the prettiest parts.
The room itself had that signature Andaz feel; contemporary, warm and stylish without ever feeling too serious. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a super comfortable king bed and plenty of natural light made it the kind of room where you actually want to spend some time instead of just using it as a place to get a restful sleep after exploring the city.
Sunset cocktails at Andaz Lounge
This was hands down my favourite part of our two-night stay. Both evenings, we found ourselves at the Andaz Lounge around sunset, with a glass of red in hand, watching Bangkok slowly light up below us. After a long day of exploring the city, it was the perfect wind down, a cute corner on the terrace to sit back, sip on some wine and just take in the view before heading for dinner.
The Andaz Lounge is open 24/7 for in-house guests, with complimentary coffee, tea and snacks throughout the day, and sunset cocktails in the evening. We, however, happily stuck to our red wine.
Definitely my favourite little ritual at Andaz!
Slow mornings & breakfast at Jing
Our mornings here were probably my favourite kind: sweet, slow & intentional.
Luckily, we woke up to a sunny morning during our stay, so we stayed in bed just a little longer, making the most of that Park Boulevard view before finally deciding it was time to get up and fill up our bellies with some scrumptious breakfast at Jǐng. The name actually means “view” in Chinese, which felt quite fitting given the lush greenery around the hotel. Jǐng is Andaz’s contemporary Chinese restaurant, bringing together Cantonese and Sichuan flavours with an open kitchen & modern decor.
After a much-needed cup of double espresso cappuccino and an iced latte, we were finally fueled up and ready to head out and take on Bangkok againnnn.
Andaz made exploring easy
One of the things we loved about staying at Andaz One Bangkok was just how much there was around us. The hotel is part of the One Bangkok complex, with The Storeys right downstairs. It’s a lovely mix of cafés, restaurants, shops and little corners to wander through and, of course, plenty of photogenic spots.
We ended up having lunch at Sarnies, which, safe to say, quickly became our favourite café. Basically, Sarnies won us over with a very simple love language: gluten-free food, hehe.
What started as a quick lunch very quickly turned into “wait, should we come back here tomorrow too?” We loved the food, the easy-going vibe and, most importantly, not having to overthink what we could eat…
We also spent some time exploring the stores and the surrounding spaces because apparently “let's just have a quick look around” is never actually a quick look around. And with so many of Bangkok's neighbourhoods, malls and city spots easily accessible from the hotel, it made getting around super convenient.
The rooftop pool
The outdoor saltwater pool on the 7th floor turned out to be another little highlight of our stay. Overlooking the lush greenery of Lumphini Park, it felt surprisingly calm considering we were right in the middle of Bangkok.
We spent some time by the pool between our plans taking a dip, soaking up the sun and, obviously, finding the perfect spot to sit and do absolutely nothing for a while. The poolside cabanas and lounge make it especially easy to settle in and forget that there’s a whole city waiting downstairs.
Dinner at Piscari
Now, let’s talk about Piscari!! Perched on the 23rd floor, Piscari brings a playful Mediterranean feel to Bangkok with rooftop views, cocktails, seafood and plenty of atmosphere. We had dinner here and honestly, between the food, the city lights and the whole rooftop setting, it was one of those “okay, Bangkok, I see you” moments.
And just when you think the night is over… There's a hidden speakeasy tucked behind the main restaurant.
The vibe completely changes. It is darker, moodier and much more intimate. Perfect for one last cocktail and dessert before calling it a night… although Bangkok nights have a funny way of convincing you that one last cocktail is never actually the last one.
Final Thoughts?
Andaz One Bangkok is one of those hotels that manages to feel luxurious without being overly formal. It’s stylish, social and very much connected to the energy of the city, while still giving you those little pockets of calm when you need them.
For a Bangkok stay where you can eat well, drink well, wake up to beautiful views and still be right in the middle of everything; I’d definitely come back.
So, pack your sunnies, your appetite and maybe a slightly flexible bedtime… Andaz One Bangkok is waiting.
Love,
Vanshika <3
